Statement

The human mind is incredibly complex and how we interact with the outside world fascinates me as I find that we act differently within our own heads. I’m interested in the internal dialogues that we have with ourselves on a day to day basis and how different life stages affect these dialogues. My work explores this aspect of being human through analog photography and alternative processes. There is something very intimate about photographic imagery so using this medium to visualize my concepts about the human condition is fitting.

Our subconscious tends to be very fluid with our thoughts running from one to the next I use this same approach with my photography. I focus on the process of developing film and altering images both in camera and in post-production. I move through these techniques fluidly and do not consider myself to be a technically perfect photographer. Each mistake I make with my process is simply a new way of viewing my work.
